HISTORY
What we know is that Roblox is an online gaming platform and creative environment first developed by David Baszucki and Erik Cassel in early 2000s. The earliest prototypes of the platform began under experimental names like GoBloks and DynaBlocks around 2003-2004, before being refined into what would become Roblox.
Roblox officially launched to the public on September 1, 2006, offering users the ability to explore player-created worlds, interactive socially with others, and build their own games using the Platform tools (Roblox Studio).
Growth and Evolution
Over the years, new features and capabilities such as Mobile support, scripting with Lua, and a virtual economy (Robux) – helped the platform grow rapidly, making it not just a game but a creator ecosystem where users can design, share, and monetize interactive experiences.
However, with this exponential growth also came unexpected technical behavior, glitches, and reports of unusual occurrences that couldn't always be explained by normal software bugs. What started as isolated oddities gradually captured the curiosity of players and storytellers alike – some becoming the foundation of speculative reports, community lore, and classified documentation about anomalies.
These discussions, reports, and curiosity about unexplained events formed the basis for informal archives and narratives about anomalies, where enthusiasts began cataloging strange phenomena observed in Roblox environment.
Emergence of Entities and Groups
As the platform matured and the number of reports increased, various entities and groups emerged, each with distinct perspectives on the nature of these anomalies. Within community lore, these are often categorized as Entities of Interest (EoIs) – groups, individuals, or experiences whose involvement with anomalous events is significant enough to warrant documentation, study, or investigation.
GROUPS OF INTEREST
In Roblox Anomalies Archive, Groups of Interest (GoIs) are organized collections of users, organizations, or collectives whose activities, research, affiliations, or repeated interactions are notably connected to anomalous events, phenomena, or narrative developments within the Roblox environment. These groups are documented when their actions demonstrate a consistent or meaningful relationship with recorded anomalies, contributing to the broader archival narrative.
Note: while we accept all new groups that join this archive, this does not mean that existing rules can be broken or disregarded. All contributors, regardless of group status or role, are required to adhere to the rules and standards that have been set in place to maintain order, quality, and fairness within the community.
